The perfect gift for a mum already in the thick of parenting little ones, or just about to begin the journey. It is great for some practical ideas for the everyday, an attitude adjustment and a laugh or cry! The chapters are short and easy to read, suitable for a mother who may be sleep deprived!
I have found this book particularly helpful when my impatience and my frustrations rise and when my heart is not in a good place. Tripp gently and firmly guides me back to seeing me and my children the way God does and how to live in a way that gives Him the glory. I recommend this book to parents with children of all ages and also to people who are encouraging other parents in the challenges of day to day life.
C. S. Lewis advised us to read as many old books as new books. That is good advice. The Christian will also seek to read as many Christian books as possible compared to non-Christian works. If possible, we ought to read from the works of Augustine, Anselm, Luther, Calvin, John Owen, John Newton, Charles Spurgeon, and Martyn Lloyd-Jones. Yet - again, if possible - we ought also to read widely.
I was trying to think about my favourite part of this book but really, it was all a joy to read and consider. Michael and Calvin, working together, managed to continually lift up Christ in my thoughts and yet apply Christ’s work so practically to the Christian life including church, the sacraments, work and death.
