Good

I thought Putting Parenting to Bed was pretty good. There were lots of helpful thoughts and practical comments. The presenter came across as very relatable and reasonable.
It doesn't draw tight links with the Bible but it includes Bible based wisdom and gives a nod to the Bible fairly regularly.
I was less keen on the last sessions, just for some of the generalisations that it made (that I can't remember now). There is a positive view of spanking, that I thought wasn't explained very well. But it was also done well in that it wasn't a major part of the program and people will always have things they disagree with in a parenting program, so perhaps that's fine.
I thought the formatting was good with the mix of presenter and vox pop style parent thoughts/comments. Although, it isn't clear if they are there for novelty value or teaching (but presumably not teaching, so it would be good if that was clearer, but not major).
It is possibly a great tool for running a community parenting course through church, but I'm not sold on it just yet. My indecision is partly because I wonder if it would be more helpful to run a more overtly Christian parenting course at church for Christian parents, which is not what this course was trying to do anyway.

The leaders manual has the full dvd transcript in it, so if you wanted to check out the content of the course, you could buy that first.
