Fifty-five years ago, Helen L. Taylor took John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress and simplified the vocabulary and concepts for young readers, while keeping the storyline intact. The result was a classic in itself, which has now sold over 600,000 copies. It's both a simple adventure story and a profound allegory of the Christian journey through life, a delightful read with a message kids ages 6 to 12 can understand and remember. A new look and fresh illustrations for today's children enlivens the journey to the Celestial City.

I bought two books to give to my great grandchildren, two of which just turned five on the same day but they have different parents. My husband and I are exclusively their great grandparents. My husband and I took the DVD of Pilgrims Progress into the remote areas of Papua New Guinea and saw amazing results from people watching, it brought understanding to them. I feel the children will benefit from their parents reading to them and explaining what it is about. I love John Bunyans book and his depth of understanding. I recommend this to everyone. It is second only to the Bible in sales.
An excellent book to read to or with your primary aged children to help grow their understanding of the Christian life journey. Not to mention the wonderful relationship building that comes purely from reading a good story and discussing it together. To top of our own experience, I personally was touched and encouraged in my own Christian walk as I read this book to my children with its simple but profound allegories.
