A Work of Genius

Calvin was not an ordinary Christian writer. More than extraordinary, his Institutes were the greatest work of literary genius of his time and remain a bedrock for the church theology today. Based on Bible teaching already accepted by the true Church, The Institutes retold the core Christian theology for a Reformation era. It was primarily an answer to Romish Catholicism and it’s attendant doctrines of “Justification by works”. But Calvin’s writings are by no means limited to one doctrinal argument: he is a writer of fascinating style and broad application to every area of the Christian Faith. Read it. Treasure it. Pray to understand the Bible the way Calvin did.
