Phil Mawdsley The ESV boxed set cost a significant amount of money, but I have been absolutely thrilled with my purchase. From the careful packaging to the walnut case, the magnificent binding, printing … attention to every detail! This physical “wrapping” reflects and venerates the true treasure of the Word of God, and the format without chapter and verse really encourages reading as a narrative. As a constant reader of the Bible I am finding it easy and encouraging to read by paragraphs and topical sections; for example reading Genesis divided into sections “Creation and the Fall”, “Noah” etc makes sense as a narrative. Obviously chapter and verse are essential for study, but reading this version is quite a revelation, even though at this stage I’ve just read through Genesis and daily Psalm readings. Anything that makes God’s Word more accessible to us is a true blessing. This is a great investment. Thank you
