Church History Books on the Puritans

The Puritan era of the 16th and 17th centuries came in the wake of the Protestant Reformation. Many faithful pastors and theologians considered the Reformation to not have gone far enough, and called for continual reformation to bring both the corporate church and individual lives in line with God's Word. The Puritans were Bible-saturated people, passionate and personal piety and holiness for the glory of Jesus Christ. Far from the stereotype of joyless legalists, these Puritans overflowed with affection for Jesus and wanted to live for him in every part of their lives We need their continued influence today.
