What is a "church"? From the perspective of Hebrews, the church is a group of "the people of God in the wilderness." The people of God are connected to God through covenants and must remain united in order to survive in the wilderness journey.
Facing the tension of the wilderness life of "promises and vigilance", they are a group of priests who come together to worship before God, and gradually move towards the final "rest" and "completeness." Thinking about the nature and mission of God's people with this definition can make the church get rid of a vain mentality of superiority and avoid compromise with secularism.
