Book Review: Living for God (Mark Jones)

Transcript:

G'day, Tom here from Reformers Bookshop.

Maybe you're a new Christian, or maybe you have been a Christian for some time and you just want to be reminded of the basics of the Christian life - the Christian life is, after all, very simple, but we often complicate it and make it more difficult than it needs to be.

Well, Mark Jones has done us a favour in writing this book here, "Living for God" which is a short introduction to the Christian life. And in it he brings us back to the basics of the Christian walk: in looking at the Trinity; in looking at our relationship to God through Christ and through the spirit; in looking at how the Christian life is one lived in church and corporately together with God's people; and finally looking at how the Christian life is one that anticipates heaven. And this book is wonderful because of its richness.

Mark Jones is an expert in historical theology, and the Puritans in particular, and he weaves together the historical aspects of the truths of the Christian faith and the practical elements of how to live the Christian faith that have been true throughout the ages, and he shows you the beauty and the glory but also the simplicity of the Christian walk.

So I encourage you to get into this one: "Living for God".
