Guo Xiande's missionary work in Shandong, China lasted 56 years, and he traveled all over Shandong. From the end of the 19th century to the 1950s, Guo Xiande was a household name in Shandong Province. In 1936, He Shi (Rev. WM Hayes, DD), Dean of North China Theological Seminary in Teng County, Shandong Province, described: "Guo Xiande has a good temperament and a compassionate heart. He is almost known to all women and children. In the Gengzi Incident in 1900, boxers killed people like hemp. Even if the chickens and dogs are not left, the room is empty. Only for Pastor Guo Xiande, boxers and bandits cannot be killed. This shows that he is deeply admired and admired by the people of Shandong Province. Guo Xiande has devoted his life to planting churches and attracting people to the Lord. No one can divide his heart, nothing can disturb his ambitions; he prays devoutly, and strives forward; he does not know to be afraid when faced with difficulties, but is not frightened when he sees persecution; forgive others with grace and treat others with benefits; always cry with tears and pray with constant pouring. To help others; he is like Christ, making enemies repent, and sinners knowing to change; his good name is to hold people's hearts; he walks around for good, and can be a model everywhere." Guo Xiande spent most of his life in the wild and has no time to write. Guo Xiande’s knowledge is far inferior to Ni Weisi and Di Kowen, as Hesch described him, "too busy making history to write history." This book was written by his son-in-law, Rev. James RE Craighead in 1921. For this reason, the heavenly heroes left a testimony in history. Today, more than a hundred years later, he still speaks "because of this belief."
